The 8TH Generation of Honda Civic in Malaysia
'Civic’ – the name has always had a nice connotation to it and at various times since its introduction in 1972, Honda’s first global car has done a ‘civic duty’ with regard to reducing consumption of fuel as well as addressing environmental concerns. In fact, at its birth, there was a global panic concerning energy supplies and while most carmakers struggled to find meaningful solutions, the little Civic already offered real fuel economy with its efficient engine. Around that time too, growing concerns about pollution from automobiles saw tough new legislation being introduced in the USA and Japan which forced manufacturers to develop cleaner engines. Again, Honda already had the answer with its CVCC engine (which had a unique combustion process) in the Civic which could meet the new regulations without using a catalytic converter.
