Sayonara MAXTOR

NEW YORK, Dec 21 (Reuters) - Computer disk drive supplier Seagate Technology has agreed to buy rival Maxtor Corp. for $1.9 billion in stock, the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The paper said the deal is expected to be unveiled later in the day, with Seagate planning to swap 0.37 of a Seagate share for each Maxtor share.

Under the terms of the deal, as reported by the Journal, the transaction is worth about $7.25 a share for Maxtor investors, a 60 percent premium to its closing price on Tuesday.

Both the Seagate and Maxtor boards have approved the deal, the paper reported, which will unit two big hard drive makers.

The Journal, citing people familiar with the deal, said the companies are likely to argue to antitrust regulators that consumers would benefit because of cost efficiencies, among other things.

Neither Seagate nor Maxtor representatives could be immediately reached for comment.

Mukadimah ajer tu. Tapi nak sentuh sikit pasal sabar dlm kehidupan kita hari-hari. Sebab kalau nak komplen, sms kat ERA buat perabih duit ajer. Aku ‘blog’ kan ajer menda nie.

Pagi tadi, saparti biasa pegi keja naik motor. Lepas drop the mrs kat Jln YKS.. aku terus ke ofis kat JRC ikut Jln P.Ramlee. Kat traffic light depan MUI Plaza, ader keta nak masuk jln besar. Aku brek ler motor aku.

Pas tu ader ker mamat motor kat belakang aku (aku tau sebab motor 2 stroke, enjin ader kuat jugak); dia membebel.. Mungkin dah lambat ke opis tu kot. Kalau aku tak dgr tak per. Masalahnyer aku dgr..

‘Cepatlahhh’ kata dia. Lepas tu nak cilok potong lane aku. Kalau dia cilok jugak mesti sangkut kat keta sebelah and motor aku. Aku toleh belakang. Aku sound ler…. ‘Sabar lerrrr’. Dia balas balik ‘Dah lamer sabar nie’. Geram betul aku. Dia cilok lane lain and pecut. Plat kalau tak silap WH* 346, kot… Tak ingat sgt.

Aku tak kisah kalau dia nak rempit ker… merbahayakan nyawa sendiri ker.. aper2 ker… It’s a free country. Tapi kalau tahap melibatkan keselamatan org lain, itu dah kira kureng ajar. Sekolah tinggi2 tak leh piker baik2. Kesian kat awek, tunang, bini, kat belakang dia tu. Apa2 hal, saper yg susah. Kalau mati, boleh tanam. Masalah kalau patah, biol ker, putus ker…. Tak ker haru…. Kalau dia, tak per jugak.. mmg tak sayang nyawa, orang belakang camne. Tak ker lagi haru.

Bagi aku, kalau bawak motor ker, keta ker, kena byk bersabau. Kalau tak, boleh mengundang bahaya. Mcm aku dulu, sebab geram sgt kat ****** kemek keta Iswara aku… Gesel ngan tiang kat Giant Setiawangsa. Bulan puasa plak tu, bayang kan lah…

ISWARA AEROBACK

ISWARA AEROBACK yang telah ku pakai hampir selama hampir 6 tahun selamat ku ‘let go’ kan.

Ngan harga 15k… Jual kat used car dealer. Itu pun selepas abg ipar aku tolong push the price… Mula2 dia letak 14.5k. Next year ntah ader value ker ntah ker idak. Silap hari, 10k ajer. Perghhhhhhhhh…..

Beli ngan harga 38k. Interest around 5.5%. Loan 26k. ISWARA tu tahun 99. Register early Jan 2000. Ader member sorang yg pakai same model & year, jual last year (2004). Dia dpt dlm 22k++.… Perghhhhhhhh….. Mau pengsan ini macam.

Pakai selama 6 tahun, odometer baru cecah 100k km. <>

Keta tu dah mula berkarat. Minyak bertambah kuat. Kalau tunggu tawun depan lagi rendahlah harganyer. Proton mmg pandai spoilkan market sendiri. Mana taknyer, keta boleh kuar ngan 0 downpayment.

Bateri keta yg original aku tukar dlm mid-2003… lama pakai tu…. Almost 4 yrs. Tukar bateri baru sebab keta dah susah nak start……

Tgh tahun nie baru aku tukar bearing, timing belt & spark plugs. Spark plugs rasanyer baru 3/4 kali tukar kot.

Bearing and timing belt tu first time aku tukar since aku beli keta tu. Bearing tukar sebab keta dah berdengung… timing belt tu sebab aku dah cuak. Dah jln about 80-90k km. Takut putus ajer.

Lagi satu tayar dia, before raya dulu aku still ader pakai tayar spare original on the front wheel….ader tulis 5099. Minggu ke 50 tahun 99. Mid-December, 1999. Yang lain2 tayar dah tukar baru tahun 2003/4. Jadi tayar original yg dtg ngan keta tu, memang aku pakai lama. Bertawun lamernyer.

Since aku nak balik kampung raya lepas, aku tukar jugak tayar tu walaupun bunga dia cantik lagi. Nak balik Kedah beb, long trip tu dan untuk keselamatan. Faktor cuak lagi sekali. Jadik, sumer tayar tu kira baru.

Maintenance?? Mula2 dpt ISWARA, aku hantar kat Proton Servis. Abis ajer dia punyer free servis, aku stop terus. Servis dia at that time ader kurenggg jugak. And q punyer lah lamer. Sekarang tak sure… tak pernah jenguk pun.

Lepas tu aku buat sendiri, most of the time (90%). Arwah bapak aku yg ajar. Biasanyer, biler aku balik Melaka, aku beli minyak hitam siap2 (Castrol Magnatec) dalam RM60-70++ ngan filter. Total ~80, tukar kat kampung. Tukar every 5-6k km. Bukak skru kat bawah keta tu, biar minyak keluar semalaman. Esok pagi baru isi balik. Kira minyak kotor turun semua. Mula2 mmg nampak susah. Tapi kalau dah tahu aper nak buat and you have the right tools, should be okay.

Lepas tu member adik aku (Mamat nie mekanik kat Proton Servis) ajar camne nak tukar coolant and bersihkan dia punyer tabung air wiper and coolant. Nie leceh sikit, sebab byk skru nak bukak. Lepas tu dia cakap jgn pakai air paip, pakai air bateri (Air suling). Rational dia sebab air bateri tu pure H₂0. Jadi dia tak akan / kurang chemical reaction. Rasa macam betul. Tapi aku tak sure, SPM Kimia aku dpt 5. Ader org cakap pakai air mineral. Ntah mana satu betul atau dua dua betul????

Pakai keta ni pun mainly nak hantar anak pegi kindergarten and baby-sitter. Aku pegi keja naik motor kapchai. Nak jimat duit beb. Kalau naik keta, pukul 7 dah kena kuar rumah, latest 7.15. Nak tempuh kesesakan, duit parking, mak oiiiii…. tak sanggup. Tension gilerssssss.

Baik naik motor. Duit yg lebih tu boleh buat belanja anak2 aku. 8 pagi latest. Cuma kena tahan hujan. Tapi kalau Harith dah start primary nanti kena adjust skit timing tu… Sebab sekarang pun asyik lambat ajer…..

Pas tu pakai keta nak balik kampung and jln2 window-shopping ker, shopping ker, holiday ker.

Sesungguhnyer Iswara nie byk kenangan. Umur dia lebey kurang my first born. (Harith).

· My first car. Rezeki Harith. Harith lahir bulan 10, 1999. Keta dpt bulan Jan, 2000. Pegi kat dealer terus ader ready stock. Orang yang booking keta tu tak minat ngan colour dia. Tak piker banyak, aku amik ajer.

· Harith muntah dlm keta. Harith nie masa kecik kerap sgt muntah. Makan lebih sikit muntah, minum lebih sikit muntah. Dlm keta tu byk ler bekas muntah dia. Tapi wife aku, kalau Harith muntah, sampai rumah dia akan bersihkan, ngan kasi wangi itu seat. Alhamdullilah, Harith sekarang tak muntah lagi.

· Bawak arwah mak & bapak aku pegi makan ikan bakar kat Serkam

· Naik Genting pakai ISWARA, ada Family Day… Pergi ngan wife, adik ipar aku, Harith & Dhamirah. Haziq tak ader lagi masa tu. Perghhhh… main gear 1,2 ajer….. turun Genting…main brek ajer…. Brek pun kurang makan. Note - kalau pakai ISWARA nak naik Genting, jgn pakai air-cond. BERATTTTT.

· Pegi main badminton kat Dewan orang ramai AU2, Subang, Sri Petaling, Cheras, Wangsa Maju, KLSC Selayang - dah tutup; pakai keta nie.

· Pegi main futsal kat Ampang Point, Sunway, Selayang, Segambut, Petaling Jaya; pakai keta nie.

· Main bola kat Maybank sports complex, Bangi, Sekolah Aminuddin Baki, pakai keta nie.

Aku order keta lepas raya…. Sabtu nie nak gi settle sumer & Monday amik keta.
